Apple cider vinegar - Select unpasteurised apple cider vinegar that contains the ‘Mother’.

 

Banana - Select organic and ripe bananas.

 

Beef mince - Select organic pasture fed regular beef mince.

 

Beef organ mince - Organic and pasture fed organ meat contains greater nutrition and the least amount of toxins. This can be purchased from a reputable organic butcher.

 

Beetroot - Select firm raw organic beetroot.

 

Blueberries - Select organic blueberries. Frozen blueberries are convenient and can be easily defrosted when needed.

 

Carob powder - Select raw unsweetened carob powder.

 

Carrot - Select raw organic carrots. Organic juicing carrots are inexpensive and just as good.

 

Celery - Select firm and raw organic celery that is vibrant in colour.

 

​Chicken mince - Select organic pasture fed regular chicken mince.

Desiccated coconut - Select organic and unsweetened desiccated coconut.

 

Cauliflower - Select firm and organic cauliflower.

 

Coconut milk - Coconut milk is made by blending water with the flesh of a coconut and sieving. If you don’t feel up to making your own, you can purchase it in a can. Make sure the can is BPA free and the contents is unsweetened and free of preservatives and chemical additives. As coconut milk can spoil quickly, remove from the can and refrigerate once opened.

 

Coconut oil - Select organic extra virgin (cold pressed) coconut oil. Depending on the temperature it is stored in, coconut oil will liquify above 24 degrees C (76 F) .

 

Cod liver oil - Select raw and unrefined cod liver oil. Store in a refrigerator.

 

Eggs - Select organic and free range chicken eggs. Free-range chicken eggs have a higher omega-3 content.

 

Flaxseed - Select raw organic flaxseed.

 

Gelatin powder - Gelatin is extracted from the collagen of an animal. For optimum nutrition, select gelatin that is 100% pasture fed.

 

Ginger - While ginger is available fresh, Pupcake recipes use ground organic ginger powder.

 

Goats milk yoghurt - Select plain organic goats milk yogurt (free of sugar and additives).

 

Kelp - Can be purchased in liquid form as well as in powdered form. Pupcake recipes use kelp liquid.

 

Molasses - Select blackstrap molasses as it is the highest and most nutritious grade of molasses.

 

Pepita seeds - Pepita seeds are the dried seeds of a pumpkin. Select raw and organic pepitas and store in an airtight container.

 

Pumpkin - Select organic pumpkin. The skin and seed of the pumpkin can also be used.

 

Sunflower seeds - Select raw unshelled sunflower seeds. Use a coffee grinder to grind the sunflower seeds into a fine powder.

 

Vitamin C - Purchase sodium ascorbate powder that is free of additives, colouring and sweeteners. Sodium ascorbate is preferred as it is nearly tasteless compared to that of pure ascorbic acid which can cause an upset stomach.

 

Water - Pure clean water that is free of chemicals
